Saddlemen Sport Tunnel / Tail Bag

Has anyone seen one of these mounted? I have ordered one to try but wanted some second opinions. Will it stay put or damage anything? Probably should have asked prior to purchase but am in desperate need of somewhere to keep a liner and some gym clothes.

I have one of these that I use a lot on my bike. I have the large one, it fits perfectly. I modified retention system that mounts under the seat with a pair of scissors, a drill and longer bolts for the seat support bracket. So when I am not using it the straps just tuck in under the seat and you never see them and it on takes a min to put back on. I will post pics later.

Here is some pics of the bag installed and how I did the mounting for it.

I have put in gauntlet gloves, rain pants, all the straps that come with it, coat liner, camera, extra set of clothes, mp3 player, water bottle, sunglasses, bottle of aspirin and there is still room for more stuff. It will hold a lot more then the hump will.

Did you have to remove the grab handle to mount the bag? Looks like it will work out pretty well to haul a few things.
Always used tank bags before but they are a pain everytime you need gas.

I do not have a grab handle (unfortunately) so I could not tell you if it will work or not. Sorry

It fits just fine mounted that way with the grab handle still on the bike. I got mine a couple weeks ago and just used this idea to clean up the mounting for a weekend trip leaving tomorrow. I currently have a pair of tennis shoes, two pair of socks and clean underwear, jeans, thermal shirt, quilted liners for my pants and jacket, long johns, hat, t-shirt, sunscreen, and still have the side pockets and more room inside. This is nothing in comparison to the full trunk I had on my VTX, but it will do the trick. If I was going this time of year and didn't need to take my quilted liners for my gear I would have a ton more space. Erik

how easy is it to remove/atatch once its on the bike? i mean, will i be able to throw my books in it, head to school then take it with me inside, when done retatch it and ride away easily?

There are three straps and clips that hold the bag to the bike after attaching the piece that it mounts to in a way of your choosing. You simply open the clip, slide the straps through and close the clip and you are done (two on the front and one to the rear of the bike). If you mount the base the way the instructions specify it is no problem at all, if you mount the base under the seat as shown above, the two straps to the front end up being a little short, but reach on my bike without a problem. Hope that helps some. Erik

I finally broke down and got my today. I love it. Thanks for posting this! YOU ROCK!! love the bag completely. Over night trips get ready. HEHEHEHE:thumbsup:

I really like the idea but i would like it better if the center container zipped out taller to hold more.

soz guys, but those pics make me CRINGE!!! All I can see from the pics indicates to me that this bag sits on (and rubs?!?) the plastic on the ducktail on BOTH sides of the seat!?!?!?! Please tell me I'm wrong, but the paintwork, and the plastic....will ultimately suffer a cruel fate, sooner or later! :unhappy:

That's what I was thinking too.
