Wel, the wife was off on for a rare Saturday, so we were going to be 2-up all day.  I decided to run by my cousins house to see if he was going to be out, he just bought a leftover 03 (0 miles) VTX 1800 about 6 weeks ago ($8,600 OTD, why do I never find these deals.)

So anways we get there and unfortunately he playing super dad, as his daughter has some friends and all over.  But since he can't ride, he offered up the keys to his bike for the day.
Well, being no dummy, I eagerly took them and didn't bring the bike back till about 12:30 AM (left about noon.

So this is like comparing bricks to frisbee's, but I've never rode a bike the size off the VTX before, and all I can say is WOW, what a nice ride.  You can definitely feel the extra top weight sitting at a light, or trying to move out off a parking spot, but once the clutch is let out, that thing was a dream to ride.  Lots of torque but not much HP, very short rev line ( no tach so I have no idea what it is), but she handles like a dream, braked better than the Busa in my opinion and was so much more plush over the rough country backroads.

After riding the VTX all day and then climbing on the Busa to ride back home, first impression was, this damn busa is small and narrow, the hand grips are puny, but the power, god yes the power.........I missed that all day.

So though I have a love affair with my Busa, I think I need to add another bike to the stable for some all day 2-up riding, we've spend many hours and many miles 2-up on the Busa, but none of those were as fun as yesterdays ride.

So here's how my day started

And here's how it finished, he has a sissy bar on it now.

I'm with ya on this one. My Brother has an 03 VTX1800, the B model. Once in while we swap bikes. For two up and cruising the VTX is great. Wife as given me the OK to add one to the stable next year when I get the car paid off. Best of both worlds if ya ask me...

the 1800 has some marbles, they are supposed to be in the 3 sec range 0-60. 100+ horse and I think 103 lbs-ft of torque. I looked at them before I bought my Royal Star, very nice bikes. Your Busa Looks great as well. I know what you mean about missing the busa. I was on the Royal Star all weekend for a trip to Harrisburg PA. Every time I hit a twist in the road or turned my right wrist I wanted to be on the Busa.

Ah the VTX! I traded mine in on the busa. Had an 02 1800 VTX Retro. I must say, the horse power numbers weren't that impressive but it had a good bit of torque. I loved that bike, rode like a lazy boy. hehe I must now post my second picture of her. Oh how I miss victoria.

My brother-in-law bought a VTX...he loves it. Nice looking bike; imagine it would be better for 2-up riding on longer hauls...
