Say a prayer for my daughter Kathy

A few yrs ago she was diagnosed with a learning disability. Nothing serious just she reads a bit behind, all else is fine.
Last week we received news she was approved for state funded assistance which will hopefully allow us to put her in a private school.
Whether or not your religious you cannot argue the diff between public and private schools.

We toured Trinity Christian Academy today and applied. From the first moment I sat down I was sold.
Behind the principle were two big posters.
One of the American flag with the words 'God Bless America' and the other of the same flag with other words that read 'Land of the Free'

Ok Saiids done where does he sign up ?
Not that simple she has to be accepted.

Structure, discipline and direction is what she desperately needs to help prepare her for an already rough future.

If it means a better life for her all will be done in my power to see it thru..

Ogre I agree with you 100% but here in Florida the public school system has been dumbed down in order to continue passing them whether or not they can.
From the top down principles and teachers are paid bonuses and raises based on performance. This perfromance is of course gathered by their peers and themselves so of course its always good.

Trinity Christian will have ability to help her individually as she needs.
Now in school she does nothing really but hang out.
Its pathetic and dishearteneing.

We walked into the school today with a blank check from the state.
Any person or school who did not care for the individual would have seen that nothing else and signed us up.
Instead the registrar said fine BUT lets see if its best for Kathy and how we/I can help her first.
I was impressed, looked thru the $ and had genuine concern for a child she had not met.

A funny and sad story about the school she is in now.
We went to PTA meetng last yr with her teachers.
All except one recognized her. Her math teacher did not nor did she realize Kathy sits 3rd row right in front. Kathy told her yes I am in your room !
No you, you cant be she said. Had to check her list to see the name before she would admit it.
I felt like crying and smacking her same time.

Got to get her out of that zoo atmosphere.
Anyone with kids in Fla will know what I refer to. Its chaos here.

A lot of the blame for the schools being dumbed down has to be put on the Bush administration when they instrumented their "No Child Left Behind." I use to work for a school district. The no child left behind is the government way of telling the schools that all the kids are to pass.
