sunday i reviewed a topic on dragbike.com that brock davidson replied to me about nitrous/efi on the busa. he explained to me that he had some sucess with doing this and said to contact dave schnitz for more details..now dave runs a business where he does little talking on the phone.i kinda knew this before i called.take in account that they are my in state race shop and i've spent quite a bit of money with them because of this.also i've sent alot of business they're way...but when i called i explained who i was knowing that he just spoke of me a day earlier at a idba race at bunker hill.his receptionist took my info and said to hold on i'll let dave know who's calling.when she came back to the phone she said, dave said all we've got for busa is...started running off this list of stuff that didn't pertain to why i was calling.i said i'm not calling for this, i'm calling for info on some stuff that brock told me to call dave about...i explained to her that i was taking my bike to prostar and there would be people from all over the world coming to see this bike, like reporters that have already contacted me ahead of time..and that there a couple planning to do a photo shoot on my 1430 busa..she said let me go and try to get him again.this time when she came back she said, dave said that he's not doing anything until guy's figure out how to keep from blowing there self's up...i told her that this was a prodject that him and brock was already working on...she said what is your number i'll explain it to him again and if he wants to call you back he can..he never did, and at that point i didn't care if he really did or not.....it's his porogitive to talk on the phone and he needs to understand that there are guy's that need help from time to time. i would think that dave would show some respect knowing that he was there one time also.you know you can only step on peoples toes so much and after a while your going to wonder why the bills arent getting paid.thats his choice and i know now that he has one less customer and the people that support me...i usally don't bash someone in the public but this guy showed me no RESPECT....frank adams

Frank,

I am no employee of Schnitz nor am I favoring them in anyway but I, Joe Consumer, have had several conversations with Dave at Schnitz regarding my past drag racing projects and he has always "seemed" to go out of his way and spend considerable time helping me with my setups and questions over the phone. Now maybe this was because he knew I was going to buy something from him that day but in Dave's defense.... maybe he just fell outa bed or didn't get a chance to ride his 'Busa that morning.

i agree, at the track he's all help.maybe he's a pick and choose guy at his shop.he has never spoke to me or anyone i'm tied to over the phone. he always lets his receptionist do his leg work. but there comes a time that you gotta think about guy wanting help on the phone.most likely you'll save more time then what it cost to pay your employee's. why hide?..it's just good public relations and just good business...you know and i know, nobody wants to deal with a middle person....i just feel like when i call, it's serious...maybe other people call and want to know things that are alot of wasted time, but thats business....i to defended schnitz racing for along time, with negative people.but you can call orient express, fast by gast, superbike mike, mps, gatlin racing and alot of other places and all these places take the time to help if they can...they usaully have some kind of technical support they provide...dave schnitz is just in another business then the rest of race shops..i have excepted that now...

I have had the same experience with Schnitz and Hahn's racecraft. If you aren't waving money right then and there or if they don't have anything that belongs to you Dave and Bill are hard to catch. But if you have a interest of theirs then they will come looking for you. The world is a strange place!

Frank I think you have hit the nail on the head. As a general rule if you don`t do the work yourself and depend on a speed shop you`re in for a bad dream...real bad dream.

Dont even mention Hahn's racecraft.I wanted to buy one of their Turbo/Fuel injection sytems for my 95 1100 last year. The guy that I spoke to on phone was totally non professional.I still believe in quality service and if I dont get the service that I want I go elsewhere but I do write a letter, make a phone call, send an e mail or even show up in person and tell the person that they missed out on my business and I wouldnt recommend them to anyone.
