screens? risers? seats?  So Many Decisions

So I'm budget minded, first of all, and want to mod the bike to be more fitting to ride from middle-TN to east-TN as cheaply as possible. The wind protection of the stock screen is ridiculous. Risers and a seat would make me more comfortable. But I don't know which route to take. And yes, I've searched and read for hours on people's opinions - but most of the threads were old, so I thought I'd throw it out there again.

I feel like I should get the Zero Gravity Sport Touring screen, Reaper Risers, and the Tobin seat. As far as my budgetary constraints go, should I go that route? Any other options you want me to consider?

Thanks!

Being that you mentioned the wind as being an annoyance I would go that route. Then get the seat and risers. The look of the touring WS doesn't appeal to me though. I went with a DB. Prob not as good, but it does good enough for me here in FL.

For the risers what you could do is get you four bolts an inch or up to 2 inches longer than the stock bolts and washers to raise your handlebars. Cost like $5-7bucks.

Maybe you could get chrome plated washers?

Don't forget, when you raise the bars, the cables and hoses may look long enough, but they are not. When the bike goes light and the forks extend, all the connections are too tight.

To bring the bars up that high you are talking major bucks and pain to change brake lines, cables, etc. Don't forget the wiring, it will be too short too. Sucks.

If you change the pegs, it will be hard to reach the rear brake pedal.

If I were Zuke, I'd raise the bars 3 or 4 inches. Then I'd lower the pegs 3 or 4 inches, and I'd move them back a bit so your legs could stretch.

The bus won't carve canyons like a liter bike, so why make the riding position so cramped? The extra ponies on the new ones is nice, but some added comfort would go a long way.

I'm 5'11".  I might go the washer's route to raise them an inch.  Would that put too much tension on the wires/lines?  Cheap is good.

I want the screen to do more than the stocker because at 80 the wind is killer.  I plan to do much more interstate travel, so I need wind protection.  Does the ST screen offer enough wind protection to justify getting an uglier mod than the DB?  If the DB will provide good enough wind protection for 80mph on the interstate, I'll just go with that.  I just don't want to buy one and wish I'd gotten the other.

The seat can wait, I think.  I'll do a search for the buell peg mod.  Thanks!

Go for a Puig DB, much nicer quality compared to the ZG.

I have a set of Heli-Bars that I might be willing to sell you if you are interested.

The washers will work, but err for a mod that you can do for $20-$25 that will look so much cleaner... As far as lines not being long enough? I also lowered mine in front so I can't help you out on there.

Yep, I had a ZG that got cracked and switched to a Puig.
The ZG was too thin and rattled without tape. The Puig is a perfect fit. The dark smoke (what I have) is a bit too dark, but it works.

Nope! I don't need a radio, seat back and cushion, hard saddle bags, butt massager, 5 whip antennas, well you get the idea.

I want the same speed and acceleration, but a little more leg stretch and a bit less back pain. It could happen!
