Like a Gen 2 right..If they build me a tank that fits over that airbox for the added fuel capacity I will swap it out in a heartbeat.
I don't understand the cover either. It's not practical for removal, and there's too many layers. Give us a solid tank, screws down in front, you can post it up with the prop rod, and work on it underneath and you get some extra fuel capacity.
Makes the bike feel and handle lighter, also quicker steering all of which the Gen-3 has over the Gen1/2.I think that tank is designed to get the fuel back and lower for mass centralization. This is how many sports bikes are made.
Also makes room for a turbo plenum & intercooler....Makes the bike feel and handle lighter, also quicker steering all of which the Gen-3 has over the Gen1/2.
I think the change in rake makes the bike handle slightly better...they did the same thing with the gen 2 vs gen 1...each time they changed the rake slightly (from what I've read) the gen 2 handles slightly better than the gen 1.Makes the bike feel and handle lighter, also quicker steering all of which the Gen-3 has over the Gen1/2.
Unfortunately the Gen-3 wheels are heavier. Not sure why Suzuki went through all that trouble retooling only to make them heavier…I think the change in rake makes the bike handle slightly better...they did the same thing with the gen 2 vs gen 1...each time they changed the rake slightly (from what I've read) the gen 2 handles slightly better than the gen 1.
That and the rims might be slightly lighter....the gen 3 carries 1 liter of fuel less in basically the same position as the other generations.....there's not much fuel (if any) that sits over the airbox on the other generations.
A one piece tank makes (made) sense.
I agree....they look good though...Unfortunately the Gen-3 wheels are heavier. Not sure why Suzuki went through all that trouble retooling only to make them heavier…
