If the unit doesn't have power, bring your battery home and put it on a battery tender.
Where is the bike kept normally, outside on the street in the elements? Was gonna build a bike shed but due to some stuff going on I'm not gonna make it before winter comes
Building one next spring... didn't get a chance this year so storage units was plan BMight want to look into a small shed to erect on your property to keep your Hayabusa close to where you live *Winter storage: Garage versus shed | General Bike Related Topics
So I have always stored the bikes in the garage with a tender and covered. The space would be great to get back. Downside is shed obviously isn't "heated" like the garage is. Garage never freezes due to being attatched to the home. What other downsides are there to shed storage if battery...www.hayabusa.org
I keep it covered in the back yard but don't want to keep out with the snow comingWhere is the bike kept normally, outside on the street in the elements?
Took it to a friend's garage and when I went to pick it up it looked like a treadmill which becomes a clothing rack .. found a storage unit for 120 a month with 1 month free if I payed for 2 months in advance..will do for this winter.Just buy a good cover, my Gen III lives in my shed but my other two bikes live outside with a good cover protecting them from the elements. Some dealerships offer winter storage for bikes so maybe an option other than self storage or ask a friend or neighbor if they have extra space in their garage.
That's good news I'm glad you found a place to store your bike, I'm going to build a bigger shed this winter to store my other two bikes in but working on a few other more important projects firstTook it to a friend's garage and when I went to pick it up it looked like a treadmill which becomes a clothing rack .. found a storage unit for 120 a month with 1 month free if I payed for 2 months in advance..will do for this winter.
Cover is water proof and all that so I'm good... just don't want to test it with snow and ice lol
Yes I wouldn't want to leave them under covers myself. I left a busa out under a rear deck years back, under a good factory cover, it never had rain on it, but it got rust in all sorts of places. moist air circulating, be worse with snow melting I imagine. All mine are in a garage under the house now but I have a large covered carport I keep a lot of stuff in. It's enclosed on two sides but has lattice down one long side and a gate at the front. Any tins or similar metal surface gets rusty over time and wasps etc come in and build nests.Just buy a good cover, my Gen III lives in my shed but my other two bikes live outside with a good cover protecting them from the elements. Tried that but the wife got upset when I had her bags packed and tried to put the bike in bed with me.
