Service Technician in Northern Virginia

Anyone know of a good service technician in Northern Virginia? My replacement fairings arrived for my 2009 and I don't really feel comfortable installing them. I see people say its easy "be careful...".
Thanks

@DShark

got the gen2-manual from here ?

should help to answer most of open questions .

and the microfiches could help too

and i found the abs-part ´13-´20 to the gen2 manual - see atts.

don't worry - the assembly of the "plastics" is not that difficult (overall).

however, when dismantling the old "plastics", it is best to take photos of which screw goes where.

the only small danger is when you screw screws into the plastic noses - these screws have to be screwed in very carefully (straight).

BUT !!!
an urgent request to all !

please don't spread this link like fodder to the chickens /
don't scatter this link in front of the chickens like grains of feed

because I don't want to be beaten by a lawyer for violating copyright.

THAT would most likely throw me into financial ruin.

Does the EU have any particular rules for enforcing this?

It seems these bike manufacturers do not care about the publishing of their manual for some reason. They are probably very happy that the manual is readily available to people. I do not think that they care about it as a profit center otherwise you and every bike forum owner would have heard from them already.

Now, if you posted yourself singing an Eagles song to Youtube, Don Henley and the ghost of Glenn Fry will sue you, your children, down to your great, great grandchildren. They have 60 people policing the Internet full time to remove any songs of theirs! You have been warned!

man?

follow my link , open the pdf , scroll down to end of page 3 and you find this :

so i guess / suppose , the copyright law applies (almost) everywhere but certainly in all english-speaking countries .;)

and yes the EU feel the copyright as high as the human right - no joke.

i myself had bigger trouble with a hp owner some 15 or 20 years ago and the bill was 1500 € that i had to pay within 10 days .

and all of this despite the fact that I had asked for and received permission in a face-to-face conversation.

so far to copyright law in germany :(

i asked (german) google :

how long is a work protected by copyright?

copyright expires 70 years after the author's death,
i.e. it lasts from the creation of the work throughout the life of the creator and 70 years after his death.

with the death of the author, the corresponding right passes to the heirs.

Yes, but I cannot see Suzuki, the actual owner of the copyright, ever enforcing the copyright on their service manual.

What I meant is, does the EU enforces copyrights that do not belong to them? That would be your only risk, the insane bureaucracy over there.

What do you mean by "hp owner", a vehicle owner? What was posted that they felt the need to sue over?

yeeehah

here´s a link to the complete - english - gen2-manual ´08 - ´17(´20)
Thanks for that Frank . . . appreciate all your help and your generous offerings of 'copyrighted material,
I promise I won't tell on you!
I do have access to all the manuals for all Suzuki models at my work place, but just haven't figured out how to upload them onto a USB drive just yet lol.
I think our computer system is linked to Suzuki NZ's system to access the manuals, they are not actually on our company's server. So I can only print off material that I need, as I need it.

So I ran into another problem. I finally opened up my boxes of new fairings and I did not know that the cushions/ shields did not come attached to the fairings. Can I transfer from the old one or do I have to buy new ones?

Some on here have run them without the pads/shields with no ill effects reported...

I know @c10 removed most of his using only specific pieces and saved weight.

yeah greg

not yours in NZ only alone
nearly same here in germany - sad, very sad .

there are only a few manuals my buddy at the dealer could download as a pdf and save somewhere (my usb stick ;) etc.)

suzuki (and all other japs too) , as far as i understood , stopped the printing of manuals of newer bikes
and only the dealers have (a patly very expensive) access (here in germany) to their system via computer / internet with no chance to save that "at home".

but greg - if you look at the situation honestly and with open eyes,
you have to admit that modern motorcycles can hardly be maintained, let alone repaired,
with so much built-in electronics and the urgent need for special computers and programs.

example:
read how much effort you have to put into it, if you want to sync a gen3´s throttle bridge
or if u want to flush & refill the abs with new dot.
totally crazy.

thx - not with me.
these supermoderns can stay away from my garage.

i´ll stay with my pretty old busa from ´00
or fj 1200 from ´90
or others like them at that age.

you can´t quit that problem.

yes - you have to move/transfer the old parts on/into new fairings
hoping those parts fit perfectly together.

if not , eventually a dremel or a tube of silicone etc. can help, as sixpack (above) wrote
but that u have to find out while mounting the plastic(s)
