Deer evolve to have more deer power, ie back leg muscles. They're evolved response to a threat is to accelerate up to speed. Period. They don't care what direction they're pointed in, if they get startled they sprint.

The one that took me out just trotted out in front of me like it wanted to die. I even steered away from it so I wouldn't hit it but it moved so I would hit it. You can't trust the inteligence of a deer.

Deer are a real threat to motorcycles and they're unpredictable plus they can move faster than you can so hard to avoid them at times. I hit a deer back in October 2020 on my BMW K1600GTL and ended up with a totaled bike, broken leg and dislocated ankle while the deer got up and took off.
