I see Double Bubbles (who makes them?
Memphis Shades? Sportech V Flow? I want a bit more wind protection when I'm not in a full tuck.

How about a rear stand? Pit Bull or? Standard or spooled? What's spooled anyway? I wouldn't mind a center stand but wouldn't pay Suzy's price for one.
Throttlemeister looks good if expensive.
Sliders can be a good idea only for drops in the garage right?

So, what say ye?

Oh yeah, what about this way too expensive 600 mile service that I am only a few miles away from? Really have to remove a fairing piece to get at the filter? Anyone ever had the header pipes come loose from not checking their torque at 600 miles? Thanks guys!

holy crap!

i need to get a large coffee just to anwer all your questions,,

be back later..

i will make a quick comment. if you plan to do some maintenance ur self.. then yes get stands.. both front and back if you can afford it.. i got mine from

http://checkeredflagmotorsports.net/

get the spool add on.. what spools.. look like string bobbins the ones using in sewing. some stands can grab the frame.. some stands have to grab on to spools..

Most all screen mfg. makes a double bubble. For more wind protection you might want to go with a sport tour screen. Pit bull makes a nice stand that you can lift from the swing arm or from the spools. Throttlemeister makes a good product for the money. Sliders can save your bike more then just in the garage.

* Have the DB Puig screen (smoke) & love it.
* Have the CycleCat stand & love it.
* Have the Throttlemeister (on my other bike) & hate it (switching to a $20 throttle friction clutch).
* Sliders will help control damage but expect some damage anyway.
* Yes, remove fairing to get to filter.
* No, no loose header on mine.

For the throttlemeister just do the idle adjust mod. Bend the bracket that makes the "choke" cable stop at 2000. Mine will go to about 8000 sitting still. Good for 75 or so on the road.

Zero Gravity DB is a bit thin and wants to rattle.
Pit Bull is expensive, Handy Stands will do just as well.
Spooled is a lot more stable, and the spools just screw right in.
Sliders can save you big bucks.  You can drop your bike at an intersection if you slam on the brakes and have the wheel turned (like you didn't see the car till the last second). You can be going 0 miles per hour and a tumble will cost you $400.

Did my own 600 mile service...checked everything but the exhaust header torque...wasn't about to pull the front of the bike off just to find out what my ears will tell me anyways.... you'll hear an exhaust leak if you have one...no leak, no need to pull the bike apart. Most shops are prolly the same way..they aint gonna tear the bike apart unless they think they need to...and I wouldn't let them anyways
