shift lever

Have a shoe size bigger than seems to fit handily under the shift lever for upshifts.  Any experience with a fix for this short of cutting off the toes?

Shoe size is a 14 while smiling.  13 with a bit of a grimace.  Could be stiffness of my ankle.

Sorry if this is an olde.  Searched but couldn't find info.

Thanks.

Can do a heal shifter mod. Shown in picture, placed in position, not bolted down yet. Some adjustments still were made. Made thing is the Heal shift add on is balanced around the gear shift pivot axle.

Presently the Heal shift is made of iron. Sturdy but heavy. The Heal peg is bent inward towards the tire. Forgetting to take your heal off the heal peg. The heal peg gouges the swingarm.
Next advancement is making it of aluminum. Lengthing the heal contact peg further back. High density plastic positioned where the heal peg contacts the swingarm, cause of rider error.
Interesting that just kicking backwards on the heal peg is enough to shift gears.

Thanks.

Didn't realize I could so readily change the shift arm position w/o changing other things.

Heal shifter is creative.

Am in the process of trying to make a deal on an '05. Didn't want to buy something I couldn't shift. Ha.

Be careful when you loosen the 10mm screw that loostens the shift rod so you can reposition it. I went to town and broke the head off the nut, and now I have to live with it until I can get a mechanically inclined friend to get it out for me.

What kind of shoes/boots do you wear for riding? I have feet as big as yours and don't have that problem.

I have a pair of smooth-toed leather low-cut boots that I normally wear when riding. But, the shoe I've had on when trying to see if I fit the Hayabusa was a New Balance Running shoe. It may be thicker with the different layers of cloth and leather - 2E. Hopefully it's not an old stiff ankle that doesn' want to bend properly. Have tried several busas. Stock setup seems to be to the same standard ...which is a good sign.

Note, just because they are running shoes doesn't mean they have ever been run in.

Dealer called today. Hopefully I can make a deal AND shift gears.

Appreciate help. Feel better knowing you fit okay.
