Shopping for the girls bday

My girls Bday is coming up next weekend. She's a senior in college and is in dire need of a laptop as her old gateways motherboard finally went out and it isn't under warranty. Anyone have any hookups on laptop prices or in the market to sell theirs? That or any other good ideas would help.

several on tigerdirect.com for about that kinda money right now. Otherwise try looking in the RTP area, sometimes IBM (Levano) puts some hellish good deals out around back to school time :beerchug:

Definitely watch the Sunday paper sales, Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. usually have good deals below $500. As cheap as they are now days, I wouldn't buy a used one.

PM DocDrop... we got Dell laptops from a site off of E-bay.. and they work VERY WELL!!! (Actually better than my brand new laptop from school).

Glad to see you back on here BTW!! :cheerleader:

I would steer towards a new one over any used one... it may cost you a few bucks initially but buying "new" from a reputable company may pay off when she is 1000 miles away and the thing craps out...

You can do pretty good now days in the $500 range..

She must be a very special girl.

You're hookin' her up, and that's very cool, bro.

heh.. she puts up with me.. and that takes a lot.. so ya.. she deserves it... plus she fully supported my Busa habit and even road on the back up and down the dragon.. she's a lot like me.. i mean.. minus the the extra equipment.. so I figure it's a future investment anyways
