just wondered if anyone has tried to shorten there muffler by cutting the can and re-attaching the end cap? my friend(really,i would never cut my hindle) wants me to help him cut his off of his gixxer 600 because he says a friend did his and it`s much louder?? it`s an rs-3 yosh muffler. i personally think he should leave it alone but maybe there`s something i don`t know about with this

I shortened my Yoshi by 6", You must cut at the motor side of the cannister. Remove the rivets, becareful of the internal packing and the spot welds on the inside will give you a small head ache but a little work and refit the end piece. The sound is deeper and looks cool.

you can either use a high speed cutter (air compressor powered) or a dremel. The dremel takes a little longer but is much cleaner/precise with the cut. You'll have to cut the inner baffle to match the length of the can. use 3/16" x 5mm rivet rematches to button the can back up. I believe the drill bit to cut the rivets and redrill the new holes on the can for the new size is 3/16" I'm cutting my TRC carbon can soon and I'll post up pics of the step by step. I'm only cutting a few inches because the area the connects the can to the midpipe was rashed up in a crash during a trackday last year.

Goldenchild cut mine. LOUD! It sounds like a Busa is supposed to sound, deep and rumbly at idle, very loud when revving out but not too bad when just cruising.
