Should I Feel Bad?

OK, so I was rolling along minding my own business today when I had a BMW 3 series want to tangle with me.

Why...

Instant memories of all the times folks in bimmers have messed with me while driving slow cars in the past... Payback time. I dunno what he was thinking.

Should I feel bad for taking him up on his offer and leaving him...predictably...in the dust at each stoplight? Yes, it was cruel, but in a fun way... and only up to the speed limit (though he insisted on (eventually) passing, driving at least 70 in a 55...) Messing around is bad enough, but I'm not going to exceed speed limits. 15 over gets the bike impounded.

On another note... the Busa has become my daily commuter since losing my military career. I was fortunate to have found a new job, but can't afford to fill the truck up each week... so put about 30 miles on the Busa to/from work each day, plus grabbing groceries as able, going to church, etc. It is nice to have found a pleasant level of confidence with the bike, to have survived numerous evasive maneuvers, and numerous rides in the rain. Not sure I could ever go back to a smaller bike, as this one feels quite stable and secure under every riding condition I've encountered. Been a nice time... and I never thought I'd be riding a motorcycle DAILY. Cost savings for not having to buy 15 gallons of diesel once a week... considerable.

Feel bad for what? To be the guy that reminded him he over payed and under performed on his bike :moon:

If you still feel bad about it get him a complimentary T-shirt........."I got beat by a Busa"

feel bad? i thought you were gonna say he wrecked trying to keep up or something. in my area theres a lot of muscle cars young and old, cars and drivers, that make a couple minor mods like a cat back or maybe a new map and think they can get bikes because the car feels quick/fast to them. so he wanted it you gave it to him....hes probably online now trying to order a turbo or somethin lol. now u and this speed limit thing....

&#3@ him! The last DB in a BMW M3 found out how a roll on at 140 with a Hayabusa played out...

Fast cars, not fast enough.

Why even waste your time with any car under 600HP? Is it worth being busted for? Kinda like a 16yr old bullying a 12 yr old around.
I think we all get idiots that want to race with a busa with something out of there league.

Today I was out cruising and this Geo Tracker with a rainbow sticker started revving his 4 banger up beside me.. light turned green and I showed him.. A kill is a kill Yaaaay!! Make it Bark!!

Kinda surprised since you in FL you do know they will take your license for 1 year the first time. Second time with in 5 years and loose your license for 2 years they go for forfeiture of the vehicle and try to lock you up for a year..... Yea!! I'll pass best to leave the chip on the shoulder at home on your way out to mount your steed...

Congrats on the kill though

Yeah but those are the best kills,, Crown Vics, Impalas, Chargers, Yukons anything with a bubble gum machine on top are X2 kills:laugh:

Poor BMW. Honestly, don't get used to smoking everything on the road though! You might get in trouble. Florida can get strict if you go a certain MPH over the speed limit.
What kinda BMW was it btw?

He deserved it and was lucky you weren't trying ..

Most cars are no challenge and few drivers know how to do quick starts anyway and even a lazy biker could do 60 in 5 seconds on a busa.
I've over 350hp in my car and 4wd with sub 5s 0-60 ability and I wouldn't bother taking on anything bigger than a 600 street bike let alone a sportsbike.
When on the Busa I usually just pull away gently in 2nd or 3rd gear and give the car a bit of a head start to let them feel good...then show them what real acceleration is for a second or so just to nip past

Glad you realised how practical a Busa is....for me it does just as much as big touring bike with great economy but with the option of sporty stuff way beyond almost anything else on the road.
I like you do a 30 mile commute to work each day and have yet to find a bike that suits me and the mix of roads involved yet still manages to be feel right at home no matter the weather.

Alright, quit hating on BMWs! Some BMW owners are smart enough to choose our battles or battlegrounds a little more wisely. I think I could give you a run for your money on the Dragon ha ha!

Last week a very nice blonde with a brain not weighing more than a tampon cut me off in her Merc without batting an aye lid so I quietly followed her for a few sets of lights until I saw a heap of gravel next to one particular spot and thats where the rolling burn out kicked in & all sorts of debris covered the dumb biatches car……25 mins later I was coming back and the car was being put on a tow truck due to windscreen damage, multiple gravel rash to the bonnet, front etc….a very small price to pay for her but deadly for me if she got me.
