Should I take off the oil cooler or not????

I read a lot about it here, but I'm not sure if I should do it or not. I leave in Minnesota so it's not that hot. My busa is daily drive to school and I like to drag race her every other weekend. I put about 300miles a week. So, I don't know should I do it or it's not worth it. I thought about it because I have it out right now and what is the best why to use bypass or black-off?

It is done to make room for a turbo. If you are not in need of the room (turbo, slamming the bike to the ground, ect) then it has no benefit to removing it.

Humm I guess it would give you a small weight reduction, but it will also give you a reduction in oil capacity (the turbo counteracts that because it has oil in it and its drain system). It probably won't hurt anything to take it off though.

I won't take mine off.
It is there for a reason I figure, and at some point we have to allow the engineers at Suzuki some benefit of the doubt that they know what they are doing.

I had to remove mine with the Master Power turbo I have now. I was a little bummed I had to ditch it. I've been thinking of getting a Mocal laminova to replace it someday. For now I'm running block offs.

Sorry for the thread jack, OP

I'm just curious and sorry to detract.
Does a turbo not make something run hotter ?
If so would you not want an oil cooler on it to help keep it cool ?

with most turbo systems there isnt room for the oil cooler

Crazy_mooh again sorry to divert.
So is this an open area in the market ?
Meaning nobody specializes in making oil coolers specific for Turbo bikes ?

Crazy_Mooh as others have said leave it on. The benefit outweighs the slight weight savings you will gain by removal.
Least I think so.

There are other options, Mocal Laminar water/oil heat exchangers are one option available. Some people think this isn't a good option though because the cooling system is already at capacity.

i took mine off, i run a 1 inch oil pan with 4 qts of oil. no problem . if you ride 500 miles a day or knee dragger you might want to keep it. hour here and there your not hurting anything.
