OK, here's something that I've been wondering:
What is the difference between the can that comes with a 4-2-1 system and
a slip on can? Can you use one of a pair of slip on cans for a full system?

A slip/bolt on can(s) is manufactured to fit your OE mid-pipe.  The full exhaust can(s) is made to fit the full system mid-pipe.

So no you can not interchange the two.

slip - on's a bit lighter and a small power gain, full system much lighter and good power gain.

A 4 in 1 or 4-2-1 is a header that dumps into a single exhaust discharge or muffler / can. I love the megaphone, but I'm old school and the inline 4s sound so sweet with a 4 in 1. Anyway; an aftermarket header can give you 3 to 4 times the increase in HP as slipons and in some cases you might lose HP with slipons. 4 in 1 gives you a much greater weight reduction as well.
