Single Unit Passenger Seat & Grab Rail?

Actually, my wife doesn't use the grab rail, says its only use is to facilitate backflips under hard acceleration. A decent pillion seat, or driver/pillion unitized seat, that lowers the CG of the passenger, would be quite useful.

No, but I'm still hoping someone will make a replacement for the grab rail which provides a backrest for the pillion seat.

Well, my original plan did not work on the functional side.

What I did was end my disgust with having to remove the grab rail when I wanted to go solo. I rarely have anyone on bike (actually, only my 8 yr old daughter has been back there). My plan was to be able to have grab rail mounted to seat (off the bike). When you remove seat, grab rail (in same location is now part of bottom of seat.

However, it will now be for cosmetic/convenience purposes only as their is slight movement of rail until I brace the bottom of seat with some metal (probably under foam). The bike takes on a totally different appearance with grab rail "trailing the rear" .....................

Was a real simple removal/replacement of staples, drilling of plastic seat base for grab rail attachment, then add bolts and nuts. Bam. You are carrying the seat around by the grab rail for it storage, etc.

I'm going to fabricate an aluminum sissy bar/back rest with padding this winter. I'll butcher the stock grab rail, which is of no use to any one, and use it as the foundation of the new one.

Why? The wife's nervous without it and frankly I'm nervous for her, too. What's the fun of riding two up if you don't feel free to crack it once in a while?
