So, a handful of my local crew got out for an evening get-about tonight.

We headed up to the top of Mt. Soledad to watch the sun set over the mighty Pacific.

Nick (R1)
Me (on Wasabi)
Chuck (Gixxer1K)
Cody (ZX-6)
Craig (R6)
Hashish (R1)

We had a decent time...great view; great friends. :beerchug:

I forgot to mention the significance of the mountain top park...

First, it started out as a Korea War Memorial. If you look at the pix of the cross, many service members are honored there using small plaques

Next, a bunch of people (athiests) wanted to take it down (because of the cross), so through some wrangling, the park was purchased and is now private property, and not subject to public opinion.

Finally, it still affords us all an opportunity to go enjoy the view and pay homage to those who paid the ultimate price for what we seemingly (increasingly) take for granted.
