...Yup thats always my hurdle mate!! The web site is listing a company called www.yoyodyneti.com ... any of you guys delt with them before??? Are they reliable
Yoyodyne is a reputable company, buddy of mine has purchased several items from them with no issues. I thought the Busa had a slipper clutch already, that's what sucks about trying to launch hard with the stock clutch set-up. I'm not 100% on this, but I think so. Prevents the back wheel from locking up in the event of ahard down shift, right?

The busa has a torque limiter... which works when you take off. It does not have a slipper clutch. Lot of people confure the torque limiter of the busa to a slipper clutch!!

you're right about the back wheel not locking up in case of a hard downshift on existance of a slipper clutch..

...I placed an order with yoyodyne for my slipper clutch

In a couple of days I'll be able to downshift on Elenor like a K5 ...

I would be interested in learning the difference, as I thought the busa had a slipper clutch as well. I'm not trying to be a smarta$$, I'm just curious.

Quote from the Suzuki website, "6-speed transmission with high-capacity clutch featuring back-torque limiter system for smooth downshifts and scissors-type primary gear for reduced gear noise"

According to Sport-Rider, "The Hayabusa incorporates a slipper-type clutch which, while great for street use, grabs like a New York purse-snatcher at the strip. "
http://sportrider.com/bikes/146_0110_hayabusa/

Then there is this from this board... "The "back-torque limiter system" is a slipper clutch."
https://www.hayabusa.org/static/topic-3-20-11135-0.html

From Brock Davidson's website... "The first modification is to install a Brock Davidson Enterprises Clutch Conversion Kit. The purpose of the kit is to disable the back torque limiting slipper assembly that comes with the bike. The slipper assembly works fine for general-purpose riding, but causes an abrupt “hammeringâ€￾ effect while attempting to launch the bike from a dead stop. "

umm, yah - I thought the BUsa also had a slipper clutch. Hmm, can we get a firm answer on this please?

does it seem likely that we got a slipper clutch in back 99 while the gixxer thou had to wait until this year?

no it does not

shenoyp is correct

well if you think about it, wouldn't it be a slipper clutch? does the same thing as the K5 Describes, allows for easy launches. You can use different terminology but that does not change that fact what something is.

Also I don't see why it can't be believed that the busa had it since '99 so the Gixxer should have had it too and not starting now. Its different technology in both bikes in general in different directions. Yammy has a slipper clutch too now so that tends to be the latest trend in LITRE bikes.

two different things

one for launches the other one for downshifts

the later being the newer fancier technology and thus only appearing on the new high tech liter bikes

...hmmm, yeah!! You guys are right!! The Hayabusa's torque limiter is a kind of slipper clutch... Sorry my bad!!

..but I do have to add that, the "Slipper Clutch" in the newer motorcycles, work a whole lot better than the Torque limiter on the Hayabusa. This is my observation after riding the K5!! Can some one tell me what technology makes the newer Slipper Clutches work better than the Torque limiter of the Hayabusa??
