Slow throttle return

I have a 2002 Busa and it throttles up fine but when the grip is released, it is very slow to throttle down to idle. Anyone know how to help it return smoother and faster?

push the grip away from the bar end some and see it that solves snap back issue..

Also, if you recently put on new grips you may have gotten some adhesive under the throttle tube. I did this one time and spent an hour cleaning it out.

Thank you for the replies all of you. Heres what I have so far, I have seen the manual on adjusting the throttle, but wasn't sure if that would help the return. There is no snap back in the grip and there is some play, maybe 1/16", back and forth in the grip. I haven't replaced the grips either.

The cables might be adjusted to tight. If you don't have a little play in the throttle (grip) itself, the cables fight each other and don't wont to return very well. Try giving the cables a little slack and see if this helps. Other wise the cables themselves might be dirty and need to be cleaned or replaced.

How do I clean the cables?

I messed with the cables and I did notice some black stuff on the top of the return cable. What, and how, do I put in there to clean the cable?
