I'm on cloud nine. Made the round trip to ARS in Okeechobee today and brought back my Busa

All I can say is after 2 years with the Buell, what an absolute pleasure to ride. The 100 mile trip from Okeechobee to lakeland was a breeze. I ended up taking another 75 mile trip after I got home!!

Funny thing at the dealership..........called the insurance company to give them the VIN numbers and switch the policy. They said, SORRY WE CANNOT INSURE HAYABUSA'S!! What a pain in the ass. At that point my wife starts wondering just what the HELL I'm buying!! LOL!!!! I had to spend about an hour calling around to get insurace!! The girls at ARS are AWESOME they helped me through the entire process.

My only thougths at this point are to add a double bubble. I can see the guages just fine but I think a little more height on the windscreen will make a big difference. I might make up some custom footpegs as well, I think about a half inch lower would make my old knees a little happier. Other than that, I'm totally in love....... Mabye an exhaust with a little more bark, when I recover from the bike purchase.

Thanks to everyone here for all your help, answers, ideas and suggestions. I sincerely appreciate it.

Yes, I know, stickers and reflectors!!

Nice bike! I have been considering a new windscreen also...probably the double bubble.

thread about below installing Buell footpegs - adds about an inch of legroom.

I grew up in Lakeland and graduated from Kathleen HS. How long have you lived there?

Great, are you ready for your first Busa Group Ride? I've already talked to Diesel and we might be able to get Gypsy Joker to come along. What do you say tomorrow morning?

Kev

Depends on when we get back this way... for me anyhow~ I've gotta be at work
by 3:30p~ So as long as I can get there on time.. I'm all for a ride! Sunday would
be better for me, though~ Then I don't have to watch the clock...

Mac,

I live in south Lakeland, almost in Mulberry. I've been here ten years.

I have some Buell footpegs. I'm going to do some measuring and fitting to see what I come up with. My thought was to make my own that just dropped down and not back any further. The Buell ones seem to angle back a little. Milling my own out of aluminum will be easy once I get the stock ones off and can measure them.

Kevin,

I would LOVE to ride tomorrow but I HAVE to get some some things finished in the shop. Then again, my arm is easily twisted

Congrats on the purchase and thanks for posting pics! Enjoy the ride!

Congrats on the new Bike. Since you had trouble getting insurance initially, how much did it end up costing you? State Farm usually has the best rates. Mine's $469/yr with $250 deduct for comp/coll with a clean record.

whats the story with this "we can't insure a hayabusa!" thing?

did they give an explanation? I never heard of a ins. company doin that before.

Congrats!!!!

Be thankful you dont have to pay insurance in New Jersey..... I am 40, married and no tickets or accidents and been riding for 26 years and the cheapest I could find was 837 a year..... This place blows.....

Thanks ya'all!!!

The insurance thing threw me for a loop also. I wasn't expecting that. I was at the dealer, it was busy, total chaos at that point. My old agent set me up with some policy with a company I never even heard of. It's like $1100 per year, not even sure of the details. I made the first installment but I'm going to shop around. It got me out of the dealer and on the road!!

Your first Busa group ride is on for tomorrow, there should be 4 of us unless someone else wants to join in.

Try state farm.. and my agent did not require that we insure our cars with them.

It's:
Karen Stockwell
New Port Richey
727-861-7227 or 1800-749-3274

We pay 415 per year full coverage on the Katana..
and 650 per year full coverage on the Busa.
