Smith Accessory Harness?

No, both of those items run off the existing harnesses on the bike. They're a plug and play item.

OK JD,
.....but when I put my Speedohealer on it came with a harness for only that to plug and play...where will I plug the Gear Indicator?

Sorry, I meant that the GPS should plug into the GPS plug, piggyback style like the SH plug plugged into the speedo sensor plug

OK...it 's got the wrong Title but it leads to the right link...

12 Volt Plug and Play Accessory Harness by Smith.

Sorry...I meant this Smith link:

Frankenstein Replacement Bolts

So so I need one to use both Speedo and Gear Indicator?

The GI and SH plug into the bike's wiring, not an accessory power port. That's what the harness does, provides power to items such as radar detectors, GPS, etc. What you're talking about goes into the Busa to perform their task which is displaying gear and modifying the speedometer output.

Wait, I'm getting confused here. The speedoHealer should plug into the SpeedSensor harness on the leftside of the bike. The Accessory harness shouldn't have anything to do w/ that, you're plugging it into the extra harness on the top right corner of the nose behind the gauges.

Uhmm..isn't that 100% what I said?? I said the harness has nothing to do with the SH or GI, they both plug into the Busa wiring, not an accessory power. :poke:

I think what he is asking is do you need a power supply for the Gipro? I am not sure about the speeohealer, but you will need a power supply for the Gipro. It does plug into the factory harness, but needs a 12v supply for the display gear indicator. I am including a link to Pashnits site, look at the harness. The red wire is the 12v supply. And, just for a shameless plug, my bike is pictured at the very bottom left above the cruiser pic. Look Ma, I'm famous! :cheerleader:

I think I caught the gist of the question. Let me know if I am off base. :beerchug:

The GI though needs constant power correct James? So he would need to hard wire it to the battery in some fashion. The accessory plug near the right blinker is an "ignition-on" only power source.,

I dont think that it needs constant power, but it will reset itself if you dont connect to constant power. I dont have my tre function activated, it is set to off by default. If he connects it with the Smith harness, and wants it on a particular setting, he will have reset it everytime he turns the bike off. The Smith harness connects to a 12v switched source. I wanted the Gipro for the gear indicator function alone. I also suspect that it is the cause of my battery dying on me. I measured 1 miliamp of draw on the Gipro hot wire on Sunday. Mind you, I dont ride mine as often as I should and anyone that rides their bike on a regular basis should not see any ill effects with the Gipro connected to a constant 12v source. On a side note, I also disconnected my Gorilla alarm to see how it does.

(sorry in advance for the thread jack)
Did you end up getting that battery replaced?

So you got all that bpjones? If you want the GI to not have to be reset, connect it to a hard line, otherwise you could use the harness if desired.

Yes I did replace the battery. It died too, but I think I am good now. Talked to my supplier today and if all else fails, I have another one waiting on me. :beerchug:

OK Guys...what I hear you saying is:
1- Use the Smith Harness for my Bell Vector Radar Detector.
2 -Use the speedohealer on the left side in the speed sensor plug.
3 - Run the GIPro direct off the Battery.

Correct?
