Smithers Custom Map

I bought a 02 Busa off of Ebay about 6 months ago, and after riding my Blackbird, was not liking the abrupt, jerking off idle throttle. Bike was stock, so I put on a set of Akropovic slip ons and purchased a PC USB with a map preload for my bike.Well it was worse with the PC, so I just left it unplugged.

Last week I finally made it to Smithers Customs in Kansas City, and had them do a custom map. Wow! The Busa's throttle is as smooth as my Blackbird's and they got me 8 more HP. Didn't seem to hurt mileage much, because coming home I got 40mpg at 85mph, against a 30mph wind. They tuned it so I got a little better gas mileage at cruising speeds.

After my experience, a custom map just for your bike is the only way to go, and the guys at Smithers are very skilled with the Dynojet.

wish I was in KS! Here in the mile high city I have heard that Faster in Denver is the place to get a custom map.. I really want to see if it would help

Is it really worth it to get a custom map with slip-ons and PC(usb)on the 08 or does the ECU do the job just as good?
