Soak clutch plates before racing.

I was recently told to try this and see how I like it. Since I'm currently modifying my clutch, I thought I'd give it a shot. What I did was dip the fiber plates in clean oil and place them where they belong. The thing is, I noticed all of the clutch plates are now sticking together because of the oil. If I pull out one, they all come out.

I haven't ran it like that because I wanted to ask. When you soak your plates before racing, is that how it's done or are you supposed to let them "air-out" a bit so they don't stick?

The reason they are sticking together is because of the suction the oil makes. The plates are fine.

Kool.

I just remember when I initially took them out, they came out 1 by 1. With the plates now being drenched with oil, they ALL come out with a pull on the first one.

Thanks fellas.

Its actaully best to soak them for quite awhile...I soak mine overnight. You def wanna do more than just dip them tho.

I keep my spare clutch wet, double bagged with ziplock bags. There is more oil on them when you install them than will be on them after you run it a bit.
