Sometimes, modifications stink

I just got done installing two exhaust systems this week, a 4-2-1 TiForce system on my 2000 Busa and a 4-2-1 Muzzys system on my 97 ZX-11. All went just fine until it came to put the fairings back on. In both cases, there was no way the fairings would fit back on without making some new brackets and spacers. It is a good thing I have a machine shop so I could make up some new brackets and spacers and did not have to use a million washers to shim out the plastics. I had to add pieces of the metal foil insulation material on teh inside of the fairing pieces as extra insurance against teh exhaust heat.

Why can the exhaust manufacturers include ALL of the parts to allow for a clean and easy installation? They test fir these exhaust systems so they know exactly where new spacers and brackets are required. For the price we pay for these exhaust systems, EVERYTHING should be included.

Complaining over.

Love my TiForce 421, prolly same as yours, HATE the fit. I have a few spots I get to reclear now from heat damage, and I need to lay down more insulation... and wrap a few spots.

If you exhaust wrap or heat shield be very careful the insulation isn't touching both the plastic and the pipe or it'll just transfer the heat right through and you get to have melted plastics. no fun!

My yosh fits great and tight to the bike.I seen the brocks and they fit nice and tight to the bike.

I haven't had any problems with the fit of my Brock's pipe.

Wait untill you decide you want the fuse box under the rear seat,
and the top hose coming out the back of the rad not the front,
and the rad would look neater black, and lets mount the mirrors
on the bar's not the fairing, and shall we change the clip-on's to
Moto-X bars, and while we're at it..........

Some days I thought it'd never go back together! .....
