Speedo question

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF YOU CAN SWAP THE SPEEDO FROM ONE GUAGE CLUSTER TO ANOTHER? I BOUGHT A 220 MPH GUAGE CLUSTER THAT HAS 7,500 MILES ON IT. I WANT TO PUT IT IN MY NEW 02 BUSA THAT HAS 600 MILES ON IT. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE 220 CLUSTER IN THE NEW BUSA BUT NOT HAVE 7,500 MILES SHOWING ON THE NEW BIKE. ANY IDEAS WOULD BE APPERICIATED...

No. The clusters between 1999 and 2000 are compatible, but not between 2001+ and any earlier model. The harness is different, the line signals are different too.

Do what I did-- got get new overlays and replace your old ones. Then add a Yellow Box. Borrow a GPS if you don't have one and strap it to your handle bars then go riding. Note the speed on the GPS and then your speedo. Use the Yellow Box [follow directions] to make appropriate corrects.

New overlays can be gotten from www.mototeck.com and the Yellow Box from www.blackrobotics.com. The yellow box has a wire harness and takes about 2 secs to install.. no wiring, or anything. It has a bunch of dip switch settings on it for calibration.
