Any one know how far off the Speedo is from the factory? I'm setting up my Speedo healer soon and I want to get it as accurrate as possible. I'll be running a 16t front, stock rear.

7% ? I found out my speed is accurate, a Cop told me.

Actually, you will have to do some experimenting. The factory speedo can be off from 7 - 10%. I went with 8.8% for mine and it was pretty close, so that should show you the differences in the bikes.

The speedo healer website has a calculator; if you put in you displayed and actual speeds, it will give you a percentage.

It seems like its pretty much off 7% on most Busa's....thats the general consensus and thats exactly what mine was off

I'm also running a 16 tooth front and my speedo's dead on, and my odometer is just the slightest bit slow...not enough to really matter...till' it comes resale time muhahahaha

Just be sure and pick the "best compromise between speedo and odo" option in the online calc......the last thing you want is a fast odo

Thanks guys. I'll go with 7. I don't really have a way to tell actual speed accurately.

Use the mile markers on the freeway to set the odometer. Your speedo will be dead nuts on. Works better than GPS.

it will work ....but your road will have to be fairly empty....pretty straight....and you have to also ride pretty darn straight as well.
in my area...only freeways have mile markers.

it's not really practical nor safe for most of us....compared to other methods.

I'ld rather send you my GPS to use, than have you out on the road trying to stop at a marker....reset the ODO...etc..... out in traffic.
Much easier to glance at the speedo and GPS to compare.

how's that for a redneck answer?

I just did mine a few weeks ago, and I used either 9.9 or 10.1 as the correction factor (I have 16/40 gearing). My speedo/odo are now off by only 2%.

I have little clue what a speedo healer is.
Guess I have some searching to do.

I'm assuming you guy's are saying the stock speedo is off on most bikes. Funny, you think Zuki would handle the issue !?!?

I forgot to add that most Busa's including mine are off 7% with stock gearing...you'll need to adjust extra in the calc for the 16 toother. The online calc should have simple adjustments for that stuff....as long as you know how far off you are stock you should be fine. I think I did notice that they changed the online calc.....I have the old style one if you need it...super easy to use, easier than the new one I think.
Also if you have someone who can drive with you in a car just match a set speed, then see how far off your Busa is from the car. Cars are usually WAYYY more accurate than a bike
