This Saturday in Portland Oregon, I'll be running in a 4 hour endurance race being put on to benefit the Spinal Chord Society. They're an organization of the spinal cord injured, their families and friends, and scientists and physicians who are aiming at the ultimate goal of cure through improved treatment and research. This will be my first endurance race, and I've found myself on a great team. It'll be me, my teammate Jeremy (we'll ride his Yellow ZX6 #763), another great novice racer Brandon and Bill, the VP of the Oregon Motorcycle Road Racing Association. We pay for all racing expenses, and all the donations go to the Spinal Chord Society. If anyone is interested in making a pledge, it would be greatly appreciated. You can pledge an amount for laps completed, per hour completed, to finish in the top three of class (heh, be kind here ) or an amount for completing all 4 hours of the race.
Anyone interested in making a pledge need only e-mail me (mbuehler@homegrocer.com) they're name, the amount and phone number. The society takes care of pledge collection, so you'll never have to deal with me
Even if you aren't donating, but are in the area, stop by for this weekends races. Along with the endurance race, I'll be running in four other novice sprints Sat / Sun, and some of the best riders in the WA / OR area will be there. It'll be a great show, and you can wander around the pits checking out bikes as well as chatting with racers. Results can be found at www.omrra.com
Thanks, and hope to see some of you there!
