I need to know if it is good !!!
I have a 99 copper BUSA which one is better for you?
The chromed one or the Black Chromed???
thanks for your opinion!!

I have a black chrome that came on my busa when I bought it new. The dealer put it on to show it to customers in the showroom and they threw it in on the deal. I liked it but I have replaced it with a Zero Gravity Double Bubble for the extra protection from the wind at speed. I didn't change because of any problems with the Sportech.

Just before I removed it I had noticed that it was starting to squeak but from what I understand that is easily fixed by putting black electrical tape around the edges. That's the only "problem" I had with it. Didn't really notice it except when the bike was sitting still idling though.

Just based on my experience with it, I'd say that it's a pretty good screen. I definitely like the black chrome better than the regular chrome. That's just a matter of personal preference though.

Here are a few pics of it on my busa...

I had the Blk Chrome one as well, but It just didn't have the wind deflection like my Zero Gravity DB. Looked good!!! Just wanted to get the wind off my head.

Hey Cool, just for info's sake here, have you rode with the stock screen in place? If so, did the Sportech do at least as well as the stock piece in blocking wind? I've never rode with the stock screen on my busa. Just wonderin' how the stock piece compares with the Sportech. I'm sure giopappy would probably like to know as well.

Bullet, the stock piece to me was other than the ugly rear fender the only flaw on the bike. I'm short (5'9") and I couldn't see the gauges. The wind also hit me in the chest and provided no help when tucked. The Sportech was better in that I could see the gauges, but the wind was then directed to my head. Plus you can't see out of it. The DB cured all problems!! By the way, what part of Ga you in? Metro ATL?

Interesting. I found the same thing with the Sportech. My head took a beating from the wind at high speeds. My RF-900 lid also had a wind noise/whistle that was annoying as fug! My neck was always tired after riding, too. It'd be sore for a day or two after a ride. After putting the ZG DB on my lid is quite, my neck never hurts or gets sore and I can go MUCH faster comfortably.

On my first ride with the DB screen I spanked 'er through the gears waiting for the usual beating and whistle to convince me to ease up like I usually did (around 95-100mph). After a short time I just knew my head should be whippin' around and the damned whistle should be deafening me already. I looked down and was going 130mph with no beating or noise from the wind whatsoever. I've taken it to 165 (indicated) with the DB and it felt like 65mph. That's how a busa is supposed to feel!

I never would have taken my busa that fast under the beating the Sportech gave me. Even at just 130mph (top speed pre-DB) with the Sportech it felt like my head was going to rip off. It was like ridin' on the back of a pick-up truck at high speed. That was tucked, too. The busa feels like a whole different bike with the DB. I liked the looks of the Sportech and it appears to be of high quality but it definitely directed the wind at my head just like yours did.

I'm on the West side of the Metro area. Close enough to town (ATL) without being too close.

Cool, yeah I got my Sportech from Tara Motorsports in Jonesboro, they had it on sale. I loved the look but like you said, like whiplash all the time.

Does Tara have a website? I'd like to check them out. Only local shop I've been to or even know of besides bike dealers is Marietta Motorsports. ( 1888fastlap.com Website is Gone ) Have you checked them out yet? They stock a lot of popular stuff at decent prices when you figure in shipping when ordering online.

I got one of their catalogs(Marietta Motorsports) and has been a while since I been there. I don't think Tara has a website, but the place is easy to find. It's off the Tara BLVD in Jonesboro right of 75. They got a lot of chrome stuff and they had a Turbo Busa for sale. The shop isn't the biggest, but they'll deal with you and the chrome is topnotch. A friend has his whole bike done with chrome from them.

Have you tried Motions in Marietta? They had a bunch of good stuff at decent prices. What kind of stuff do you need? I got plenty friends in the Drag Racing Community to help out. You going to race this year?

Just lookin' at a few dress items for now. Gonna hold off on serious motor stuff until next year. Gotta save up some $$$ for that stuff. I plan to hit the drag strip next season. Can't wait! Hit me with a PM sometime and we can swap e-mails with contact info. I'd love to make some local contacts in the drag racin' scene. Hit me up, man.

Yeah, the only thing that kept me from runnin' it bone stock this year was the fact that I don't have leathers yet. I should have gear by the beginning of spring and I'll be ready to roll. I'll definitely hook up with you and hit some events though, even if I don't have my gear yet. I can bring the camera and get some shots of ya'll doin' the thang.

All you need to run street classes are a Leather Jacket, Boots and gloves. Helmet of course!! I recommend the whole suit, but I raced a few times last year with just the above. Bone stock, motor just pipe and power commander. The first race is March 27!! Come on and let's get everybody draggin'.
