On June 30, 2004 a Black & Silver Busa was spotted.
At the intersection of Donaldson (KY236) and Turfway.
This is in Kentucky near Cinncinati, OH. The time was
approx 0841. If this was you say Hi!

On another note this guy and one other Busa rider (on a
2002 Grey/Silver like mine) are the ONLY two riders out of
62 bikers I've counted since Tuesday 0700 that had on a
helmet. Today I saw a GSXR1000 being ridden with a tanktop
& FLIP FLOPS!?!?!? The poor loser almost dropped it twice
in about 300 feet.

I know man ... I've been thorugh OH, IN, and IL a couple of times this year and I am amazed at how may sport bike riders that do not wear any gear at all ... seriously , it was shocking for me to see tanktops, shorts and flip-flops on interstate 70 and 465 and 74 ... all I can do is pray that they stay lucky and safe.

As an Ohio rider here in the Akron area, I can tell you helmets and gear are not the norm. And though I read the rants, I'm just as guilty. Unless the weather is cold, or rain, the helmet stays in the garage. Poor habit? yes!.........Show up at any bike event and you''l probably see an 80% no helmet or gear. Unfortunatly shorts and tanks are common. Maybe out roads are just so dang straight we don't worry about needing gear.

Anyways, let the reshing begin.

Yeah, those straight rodes are really user friendly to skin and bones at 60 mph.

Wear your dang helmet!

I see alot of here in Daytona. But I must say it seems driven more toward the younger 18-25 riders.

Stupid kids.

well I must admit that in all the years I have ridden, I wear gear only a portion of the time.. anything out of town, I do the helmet, jacket, gloves, AT 40 i start a little more and I consider myself an idiiot, so dont you all chime in. I live right on the water in a pretty small time and I just love the smell of the water . I realize it is wrong but i figure especially on a bike like the busa... open casket/closed casket .... Not much difference at most of the speeds I ride on if im not aroundto... I salute all of you that do the whole gear thing, you are great examples of what should be done. I have always been the rebelious type during my life and I live the shorts and tshirts wardrobe other than at work... flip flops dont shift gears so those are out

I know its not safe, and i know its wrong to ride like this but i am a creature of habit.. its sad really cuz I have all the gear in a closet just begging me to put it on... nice leather jacket, pants and so on... i need some therapy:blush:

Well, at least I know it's not just in Dallas that squids rule.

This is the reason I hate riding in the summer so much. I almost look forward to wearing my three sweaters, Polar-tek gloves and layered sweat pants under my jeans. Being the only biker in this city makes riding a bit more bearable, when NOBODY notices I'm on a bike, no one asks me if I ride, despite my gear, and I never have to worry about some stupid squid coming 6 inches from my side trying to start a conversation when I'm already doing 65 down the freeway. Yeah, as if I friggin' care about the 'new' bike you overpaid for locally two weeks ago and that you'll sell in two months, provided you don't wreck it first.

I dunno, maybe I should be moving to Europe, where hard luggage and high miles are the norm. Then again, there's always those high taxes and fuel prices. Never can win.
