Hello fellow Gun Folks, my next purchase will be a Springfield M1A Standard,(NOT Match), with polymer stock. I show current NEW retail at about $1600.00 +/-

Input from my buddies are telling me all sorts or contradictory info, such as:

"You WILL find it cheaper at the next show"

"You WON'T find a used one for that at the next show"

What is the M1A reality where you live, does anyone know if Springfield has inventory, perhaps I can get a local FFL to order for me?

Any input would be helpful, Thanks, John

I think Guns America is a good source to compare retail price. GunsAmerica - Search - Guns For Sale & Gun Auctions B"H I have a Berretta BM59 Model 62 which the Italians took our M1A and converted and is a rare gun. The M1A is great and I wish you luck on your search. :beerchug:

Thanks, we a good dealer here in town,(Greentop), I'm going to call him in a bit and see what he would charge to get one for me, and if he can even find one. The reality of what is /or what isnt at the gun show will be interesting.

The M1A is a little overweight and old fashioned, but then, so am I

:banghead:I just got off the phone with Greentop Sporting Goods, (a Springfield distributor), price is still the same but currently a 4 month backlog from Springfield.:banghead:

Ill see what I can find at the gun shows, over the next couple months.

Id say thats a good price... I wouldnt sleep on it if I was you... I had a chance to buy a Socom 2 earlier last year brand new for 1100 and passed it up now I cant seem to find a decent one for less then 2000 some are even well over 3000 yet alone a brand new one for 1100... go with your gut thats a beautiful weapon and if you really want it I would get it !

Good luck finding one. I have had mine on order since 1/9/09 and still no word on when I'll see it. They tell me maybe next month. 4 to 6 months backlog. Mine is going to be a Loaded with stainless barrel and composite stock for around $1675.

fwiw on springfields backorder, I was talking to the guys at the scottsdale gun club and they simply said they have sent 100's of thousands of $$$$ to springfield and told them to send what they can, no matter what it is or what it costs, so if you find one for a decent price you should probably pick it up.
