ok i want to change the sprocket size for more accelaration...but not to much that the front end is trying to come up off the ground just enough without having to worry about it doin a wheelie...
i was thinking 16 front and 41 rear does that make sense and is it too much or am i just really confused...any help will be great
thanx

oh yeah wich company should i buy from???
thanx again

Like PF, I used AFAM sprockets and got a DID chain. No requirement to do so, but felt better doing it at the same time.

ok so if i go 16/42 are there any problems or issues i should be aware of...do you run out of rpms reall fast??
and are you running with stock swing arm and not having the issue of it wheeling to easily?
and last of all is it really a big enough diff to notice, does it pull much harder after you install them?
sorry bout all the questions just wanna make sure i want to do this b4 i do...

I am running stock swingarm and it's not as though she wheelies like crazy, but it is much easier to get her up. The pull is quite noticeable, believe me. No problems with the setup. It is what most riders have. Other option would be to go 17/43, but it wheelies more. Acceleration is probably a little faster.

What Bigbs said.
Also, my bike was lowered and I could pin it in first and she would still not come up.

tuckerton, you are right down the road from me

from your first post it sounded like you were looking for a subtle change, i liked 17-41,42

i am currently running 18-43

i have a new 16 tooth if you want to try it,16-40 will give you more w/b,pretty dramatic change, and your speedo will be way off

your size has a lot to do with how much gear you can use,big guys can use more gear then lightweights

i just moved to NJ we should ride sometime!
and i dont reall want a drastic change just enough to feel a diff but still be able to ride it normally.
also i am 5'8 - 5'9 or so and 180 lbs so i aint too big...
i guess i will go with 16/42 sounds the best to me, will have to try it and see!
and i will get a speedohealer when i get new sprockets, i plan on gettin them in a month or two, due to..uhh..lack of money hehe

Yep, mine is and was lowered 3/4" in front and 1-1 1/2" in back.
I am 5'10" and around 195, and I could hold it wide open in first and the front would get real light but it wouldn't come up.
I think you will be happy with it.

i got one more Q...
will i need a new map? or does changing the sprockets not effect that...
thanx again for the help

Mapping is required if you change the exhaust, but lowering has no impact. Lowering will have an impact on the speedometer/odometer. There is a factory error of anywhere from 7 to 10% already there and changing the sprockets will increase that. You can get a SpeedoHealer or Yellow Box to correct that error. Cost about $100 and is real easy to install.

yeah i plan on getting the speedohealer.
just wanted to make sure i didnt need to go find a new map.
thanx

Sounds like you got it then. And I should change what I said before. Mapping is not required when you change exhausts, but most do it then.
