what is the best set up for a stock busa with open pipes and power commander for gas milage with the sprockets?:banghead:

not sure if sprockets would be something u change to get better gas mileage but for either more torque or top speed

it will not.
with that you will put the motor under a bigger load thus mapping the injector think you are needing more fuel
but mapping will help

Nothing...there's more to get though if you want it. I like cruising on open roads around 90~100mph and I'd like the RPM range to come down just a tad like it is with stock gearing around 75~80. For people who spend lots of time on the highway I think it's a worth while mod.

I am running 18/39 on a Gen II and love it for the highway. I ride 120 miles round trip to work and it is a great set up for that use.

Pay attention to "Johnnycheese"! Taller gearing places a heavier load on the engine than stock and may very well suck up more gas. Especially if you are a big guy or ride double.

And sometimes you can improve your mileage (Depending on the load) by a gear reduction to allow the engine to pull the load more freely. I reduced the gearing on my Gen II with a 45T rear sprocket and it actually incresase the mileage by a couple tenths per mile.

And yes, that was after I had corrected the actually speed with a speedohealer on both sprockets.

At what speed are you gaining mileage on a tank? I went the other way around and lowered my 70 MPH cruising RPM by about 450 RPM. This in turned reduced the amount of fuel I was using when I cruise on the highway. My set up is 18/39 and I have had nothing but good results with this. Also, I used the SpeedoDRD to calibrate the speedometer.
