Stands

My boyfriend just bought a 2008 and we are looking for stands. I've read a few different posts here looking for insight as to which ones to buy. I am concerned that there will be an issue if I get the wrong ones. Several of the items I've looked at specifically say they are not recommended for the 2008. A few comments I've read here say something about removing fenders or other parts to make specific stands work properly and I've been scared by a few who say that their motorcycle was unsteady on the stand and/or tipped over.

Is there a stand out there specifically made for this year/make/model that won't require removing the fenders or other parts of the bike, and is stable?

We have purchased, but not installed, new mufflers, seats, and sliders, but this is what it looks like now.

congrats and welcome. Lots of stands to choose from, all depends on your BUDGET

:welcome: and welcome. I use to have the same color/year busa just sold it recently and upgraded to a 2011. Loved that color combo. I have a set of stand somewhere in the storage which I rarely used. if you're interested pm me. again :welcome: to the org.

I have used redline industrial stands since 2006. They're cheap and have met my needs. I do all my maintenance and have enjoyed using them to clean the bike. So they have been used a great deal. I've never removed the front fender.

Any stand that uses the triple tree to lift the front, will need the front fender removed as far as I know to eliminate the risk of scratching the front fender.

T-rex stands, when you buy the set will give you two options to life the front, by the triple tree or by the forks. If you lift it by the forks, you do not have to take the fender off.

I have a sex of T-rex Racing stands and they are awesome. There is really no need to buy an expensive set of stands, they are no different. You can get a set of T-rex front and rear stands for about 100 bucks I believe.

You can put the busa up on a PitBull front triple tree stand without removing the fender.. :beerchug:

Congrats on the new bike and Welcome aboard!!! Like others said pitbull stands are really good from what I've heard. I bought a set of cheap ones on eBay for 120.00 and they've worked great so far. Mine lifts by the bottom of the front forks instead of the triple tree and I removed my fender/mud flap on the rear as soon as I bought the bike so, I don't have to worry about that part.

Just my .02 cents!!!

The pit bull stand for eliminated rear fenders is cheaper than the one for the full fender. Maybe because the full fender requires an extended handle or something like that. Thanks for the thread, I was shopping for a rear spooled stand myself, and went with the fender eliminated version.

I have the Pit Bull forward facing rear stand and the Pit Bull triple tree stand, and I do not remove the front fender, but it is a close fit. I have an 05. The T Rex stands are very similar to the pit bulls, I have used both and one is as good as the other.

Just put a rag over the front fender:poke::laugh:
Some of the stands require the front fender of a gen2 to be removed, because they don't lift high enough for the fornt tire to roll out under the downslope of the front of the fender.
My Lockhart Phillips front triple tree stand doesn't lift high enough to get the tire out from under the gen2 fender.
I'm not sure which brands do.
So I bought a Bursig, it's expensive but works great and I have no regrets.

I only have experience with Pit Bull stands...but I'm very happy with them. I have a Busa and a ZRX 1200 and use the same stands for both bikes.

Im thinking about getting the Trackside front and rear stands. Any org members know if you can take off the front tire while on this stand? Input would be greatly appreciated.
