Just pay attention and bring your teacher a apple.....

Seriously the class is basic riding skills in the class room
and on the course. It is pretty easy. Don't forget to bring
gloves and wear boots. I remember when I took the class
someone wore tennis shoes and was sent home.........

Once the class reaches the road course/parking lot, you will have plenty to do. Most classes are max 12 students with 2 instructors. I don't know for sure about the basic course, I have taken the intermediate and experienced course.

Does your state do the driving test waiver for the basic course? SC only lets the Intermitate or experience course test for the driving waiver.

all leather foot gear with ankle support is the requirement.

The way we run our course out here is we start with five hours of class room (1: 24). The next day we do range cards 1 through 9. The third day is cards 10 through 17 followed by the riding test.

yep, they do the test waiver for the basic in jersey, which is part of the reason i'm doing it, i've had 5 permits, but never took the plunge and got the endorsement, so after i bought the busa(my first NEW bike) i cant put it down, so calling frinds to ride all the time is outta the question. time to get the license.

Pay attention, learn and follow through. The classes will be a starting point for making you a better and safer rider. Pratice when the classes are over. I still pratice low speed manuvering and braking every time I get on the bike. I rode for over thirty years before I got my license and made it legal. Take the advanced courses later on. I also have a folder with safety tips from other magazines in them and I reread them from time to time to keep safety fresh in my mind. Riding is always going to be a continual learning experience to survive and enjoy your riding.

I had to take the course a few years back, court order after a wreck & ticket. Since I didn't have a bike I had to take the beginner class where they supplied the bike. I didn't want to take the course at first but it turned out to be fun. Can't say as I learned anything but it wasn't boring and it was a good time and along the way made the judge happy.

i finished 2day! finished 1st in the class, and was told to strongly consider taking the experienced course then the instructors course. i had a really god time though. thanks for the encouragement guys!
