Starting issue

Hi all, UK newbie, hope you can help, I just bought a 2005 model with a few issues and I'm rescuing it , one of the issues is that c44 comes up and it won't start but if you pull the fuel pump fuse and put it back in again it runs great, turn it off, hit the button and nothing until you pull/put back the fuse
I've replaced the fuel pump relay and checked all obvious connections, it has a new battery etc, any ideas?
