I am getting conflicting numbers.. low as 30PSI to a hi of 40PSI to start coming off the stands on cold tires on to the race track..

I am sure 40 is too high but how much?

I would ask the local track junkies what tgey are running. Are you running tire warmers if so you could run a higher psi because it will not take as long to get to the tires to temp

Yea probably a good idea.. no warmers here thx

31 psi is a good start. Tires will heat up faster at lower pressures. Check with your locla track time racers see what they are running. Even though every bike and suspension is different they will be close on the starting point. Wardie

31 front and 30 rear...cold...35-36psi front and rear HOT...right you come off the track

+1 Exactly the #'s that Lamb started and ended with just this past weekend.36 is a good psi for the warm temp because the tire will last for multiple heat cycles and the contact patch stays fairly similar from start to finish. Using less PSI for the cold temp. increases warm-up time and sees more temp. difference between hot and cold. The contact path also changes, changing some characteristics of rebound and compression and the like. Looking for temps of 36 HOT when the day starts and later in the day try to find 33 or 34 HOT. It's something to tinker with and you can see how minor PSI changes affect handling.

Lamb has done 7 days on the BT-002's and has yet to get the tire PSI to raise more than 6, and that was in the back. GOOD LUCK and stay safe.

I run 29 rear and 31 front, but that's with Pilot Powers.
Who's putting on the track day, if it's STT ask the tire changing guys.
But definately ask local track guys...

Do you want me to bring my tire warmers to the Bash for you to use? I am not going to hit the track anytime soon, they are just sitting there... Chicken Hawk Tire Warmers

This is through NESBA (Kevin got me hooked up with them)

Tire warmers? you think I need them? I am just running the B group.. maybe a bit of overkill for my first day out?

You probaby don't need them, but it may give you more confidence knowing you are all warmed up ready to go. What track are you going to?

No problem with me bringing them, I just need to remember to pack them up.

Do not use tire warmers w/ street tires, gets them too hot. They are designed for race tires only.

The RS is a 'track tire' that works well on the street too...you can use
tire warmer on any tire...just don't over due it

Will be at Putnam.. supposed to be a relatively fast track from what I was told. Sounds to me the tire warmers if not used as easy bake ovens would work (like why warm tires 2 hours ahead? ) suppose I could take them and try both ways? I will be there 2 days and hope one set if tires gets me through the weekend..
