I am going to try to install my new stator cover tonight or tomorrow. I will have my net book right beside me reading the thread and hopefully getting put together . I will post process pics when I am finished. Wish me luck.

Good Luck

Main things to remember

1 Bike on stand. ( Not kickstand ) you dont want the bike leaning that direction.

2 When pulling the old one off hold on too it tight, The magnet will try and pull it out of
your hand

3 When putting it back on same thing ( watch your fingers )

When you go to put it on you will say ( WOW thats what they meant )

watch your fingers.....it like a snapping turtle when it goes back on.

Take old one off 10 min

Clean any old sealant 5 min

Remove old stater and mount to new cover 10 min

New gasket and sealant 5 min

Install new cover ( watch those fingers ) 15 min

45 min, Call it an hour.

Not sure about the clear silicone / I used the Blue Gasket sealer.

Looks like you got it, just make sure you have the stator in correctly and don't pinch any of the wires.

They make it sound dangerous! Take you time and don't put your fingers between it and the motor and you'll be fine.

Don't forget the threadlok for three bolts that hold the stator in...

Good point Ted. You will also want to clean the threads and dry off the bolts before using the locktight. I use brakeclean for that. Don't think I would use the clear silicone either.

OOPS...I DID put them in pretty tight. Do you think I should pull it back off to put the thread lock on? The good thing, is that it is a clear cover, so I can see if the bolts are backing out.

Before I get bashed, the pics are on the way. I am at work and waiting for my wife to download and e-mail them to me.
