I was fixing to ask if this was possible. The proof is right there. Well, when I was in Louisiana, there was a small bike shop that swore a good 4in1 gained 20 more hp proven with dyno runs. When I was heavy into large radio control helicopters, I made my own headers out of 3/4 inch copper tubing as it was cheap and easy to work with, and easy to weld. I tried over and over adding or taking just millimeters off or on the length until I got max power. Now not only the header but the shape and size of the muffler chamber made a big difference too. A muffler with a progressively smaller point at the end with the exhaust exiting about an inch or so from the end, was a killer combo. You could easily get 200hp from that setup on that bike, good tune, well-designed exhaust system, and evidently the better gen2 clutch for some reason and with a good lightweight rider. The long story kept long, yeah it's possible with the right header muffler combo, tune, etc!

Where one really used to see the benefits of a well tuned exhaust was in 2 strokes.....a lot of R&D went into different expansion chambers and end cans.....and it was amazing at how much gains were achieved.

So what's the secret here? What is it about the maxxecu that allowed him to make such a great run? Launch control maybe?

69” wheelbase definitely helps, that’s a 8-10” stretch
Oh it definitely helps. But his clutch hand is on fire to do that! Not many can roll a 1.2x at 69" best I ever did was a 1.32@68" and I thought I was close to the limit with a stick clutch. This guy has skills that's for sure!

Yeah he was riding awesome, I am not sure if he was really even using much of what is available in the ecu yet, but on a run like that doesn't seem like much needed for launch control power management

Ya I can't see a launch control doing much with the power he is making. That's just good old fashioned riding.
