30 minutes later, I finally made the cut....fender that is:

I may cut more later, but this was a good start, about 5" shorter.

damn, you are very handy with the pen knife and rasp. if i thought i could cut mine with the quality you did, i would go for it. nice job on the cans too!!

Your rear fender looked so good to me I cut mine today. I think I did an excellent job. Made a template with a piece of card board by holding it under the fender and tracing the orginal shape. Cut it our and used the U shape part. Just positoned it like I wanted the angle of cut..then whack off it came. I also moved my license plate up by redrilling the hole in the plate bracket. I shorted the stalks on the stock signal lights. Took them apart and cut the stalk off and whittled the remaining part down to go back in the light housing. Shorted the stalk by about 2" or so. Left 1/8" rubber stalk sticking out of the light housing. Now they set in close and don't look like they are stuck out over the mufflers. I am just about to get my nerve up to try your pipe trick. Yours look really good! Keep up the good work.
