Hi guys,
I'm building a 1397 for my Sand Bullet mini rail.I'm having crank balanced, installing cylinder studs, adj. cam chain tensioner.
My question is: Are the stock rods ok??
I really don't rev it out that much?
Just looking for some opinions?

Thanks guys!

I would think you should be fine with the stock rods, since your not revving it out that much....normally you would go with a better rod for turbo or nitrous applications...

Stock rods will hold 300 hp without issues. That being said, you may have one fail earlier but on a n/a 1397 you should be good to go on stock rods.

I would think you should be goo to go. And while your playin with the crank, you might as well remove the counter-balancer.

Yes, removing counter balancer, and gear.
OK, thanks guys! That's what I wanted to here! I'll keep the $1000. in my pocket!

I will say in a rail replace them,it's under alot more duress than a bike, think about the weight your trying to move..

GoldenC.
Are you saying I'm Fat? (just kidding)
Ok, trying to do this as reasonable as poss. I've been told there pretty bullet proof under 200 hp?
Hey maybe you can help me. Can I determine crank bearing size without crank. (Sent to APE for balancing). Are there #s on back? Don't see paint on all of them?
Thanks!

PS Post more pics of your car.
Darren
