The large main sticker off the front lower fairing wants to get undone. Not bad now, just about finger nail size off the top tip of the chrome sticker logo...my '04. The dealer wants to replace the whole thing! It's under warrenty but it's a pain 'cuz I have to go through "the dealer routine".

Can't I just get some kind of glue & press it back on? What would be the best type? Finish it off with a dap of clear finger nail polish like the folks at tape works recommended? Please help before this gets out of control! Thanks!

AZTECWARRIOR,
I understand your reluctance, but if the dealer is willing to replace the whole thing, I would go for it. Good luck.

Get it replaced, it is no big deal. They take the old one off, clean off the adhesive, and apply the new one. It is just a big sticker. I would not put clear fingernail polish on it. Schedule a time to drop it off and the time to pick it up so you can plan around it and will have something else to do. I hate to part with mine for anything but, on occassion I have to. I just sleep in the lobby until it is done and if it is overnight I call friends to bring me food. LOL!

tHANKS guys, I just called the dealer & told him I'll drop it off. I did try to fix it myself but the glue I was using "ate" that whole little tip off! I had to use a fine cut rubbing compound to get off the residue...then snip what was left w/ a nail clipper. OK, I surrender, back to the dealer!

This winter all my plastic is coming off and will be clear coated. I know a guy who has done this to both his RC and 1000RR and the bikes look fantastic. Best of all, they are more impervious to rock chips and the decals are all protected.

You might consider this as well.
