I'm about to have a stock set of wheels chromed, I was wondering if they should be polished first. The areas around the spokes dont appear to be very smooth. Will the chroming process cover this or not? Thanks for any input.NJ out.
Chrome platers typically polish parts before plating them but, the degree of pre-polishing is something worth discussing with them before sending your parts. If you want the rougher areas polished completely smooth before plating, make sure they understand that and will comply. Otherwise (depending on the plater), you could end up wth shiney rough areas instead of shiney smooth areas.
