Sure, go ahead and tell yourself this guy is sick, its just him, or he needs help, but I cant believe Im the only one with the Busa Virus.

I havent figgured out when just being content with bringing home the Busa switched to a full blown Mod Virus. Things started out so innocent in my case, but looking back at it all now, I see the signs from the early begining.

*Brought Gretchen Home* - Prepared Ultra clean spot in Garage for Arrival / Purchased new Garage Broom -

- Thought I was going to be completely content with a stock Busa until I found this forum (Which was actually 3 weeks before I purchased Gretchen - so much for the stock Idea)

-Oil Change - Nope Dino oil cant be good enough, must find Best Synthectic, and Best Oil filter....Some 20 hours of reading later Amsoil and K&N - well almost...got a Purolator filter, but quickly returned when I found out the Pure 1 which is rated so highly has a much lower burst rate than recomended for the Busa

- Exhaust - Stock aint loud or powerful enough...read/read/read/call/ask/price shop - Ordered up Full Micron Race Exhaust from Micron (Killer deal because...long story, anyhow)

Well Heck, what was I thinking, I need some unexpected parts because I just cant have a race exhaust and not perform the other mods needed to go with it---duh

- Computer - Ordered up PC3 USB from the only person who knows these things BEST, JC gets some more of my dwindling cash, but hey I got a killer JC map so my wallet can take the blow...thinking I wont need anymore mods, because Now Im Happy...lol

- Airbox- well how can someone have a full exhaust & pc3usb and not mod the airbox....this was pretty much a freebie, but decided to get an unmoded airbox after reading the pros & cons of small airbox mod, Must decide for myself (Love the moded box, & now hav extra stock box w/filter collecting dust) - But hey it came from John Noonan & I cant cry about a few dollars because this dust collector came from a true Hayabusa Legend

***Month 2 of ownership & on*** LOL

- Tools, tools, tools, Shop manuals, & 30+ hours of reading on this forum....gotta Mod my brain along with the mechanical parts on the Busa

-Electronic Gadgets - Gotta have an Escort 8500 X50 with Blue LED's, sorta just a cool factor but also serves as a nice little warning, & gotta have tunes, started out never needing an MP3 player, but the Busa deems it necessary - had an Iriver 6g for 4 days until the dog ate it, so upgraded to 60 gig Ipod....this was a spendy Mod...better stick to mechanical parts for Gretchen

**Mental Note, dont forget your engaged....must buy lots of nice stuff for fiance, as she's realizing Gretchen is taking time away from us & house projects / YES the Busa WILL cause a few issues in your relationship in one way or another

- Luggage - Man, pockets just dont hold enough, so Had to get some Oxford Humpback gear. Started out with the sports series, but soon switched(magnets were faulty - Is this possible...lol) to a Humpback Tankbag (which is so nice - even holds 6 bottles of Heineken) & Panniers for those long trips

- Gear, gotta have the good gear! Busa is no put put squid machine. Lets do this right..heck, as Ive read here / you cant skimp on gear. Sidi Vertigo boots, Leather Alpinestars Jacket, Pants, Gloves, sock liners, underarmour gear. X-11 Vermulen helmet, and several other things I thought would work but didnt make the grade...WOW Safety is Expensive

-Can only read so much, must order up quality gear. Heck, I need something to do if my Fiance leaves me due to my full blown Busa Virus.

-Waiting for UPS to deliver - Michelin Pilot Powers 120/190, Galfer lines all the way around, UFO undertail, NWS hugger, Pazzo Levers, Magical Racing Screen, Coerce front fender....should keep me busy for a few weeks, & let my wallet recover. Must resist full blown Carbon Fiber mutant virus.....very expensive to recover from this if it hits ya. Turbo....oh, this is the worst stage of the Virus...Im trying to resist, but I think Ive been bitten....So I must tell myself If Im gonna get hit by this one...I better plan on being single for a long time.

If you managed to read through this long thread, you myfriend obviously have the same Busa Virus that I have caught. Ive been told their is No Known Cure... Ok, where is the 12 Step program for this issue?

Yea I said i was perfectly content with a stock busa. Then i took the reflectors off and it was ALL over. I've had it 3 months, undertail, tag relocator, windscreen, tank bra, exhaust, bmc filter, carbon fender, hugger, just ordered some new rubber too. more mods to come! i was too busy riding. rode last night in 15 degrees. good times!
