straps and stabilizer problem

just installed brocks front straps. I have a gpr top mount stabilizer and it seems to sit right where the strap wants to sit. It is making the strap fold in half between the stabilizer and the steering head. is this normal. also i had to shim out the end of the strap with two 3/8 washers so it would sit flat on the caliper mount. It is an 05 busa

I run mine on the lower tree instead of the upper.

What year bike?

LoL thanks for pointing that out.

The GEN 2 has different calipers.

On the gen one with some straps the plate needs to be modified to lay flat on the caliper. I also prefer using Brocks end kit (although it is not cheap) to put the buckle in a better position. Lowering Strap End Kit - BPP

My only worry about using washers is making sure you have enough threads engaged on the caliper bolt.

the straps are from brocks. and i am using the end kit. it is on the other side that is causing the problem. I was suprised that it wouldn't fit , coming from brocks. Usually they will say in the instructions when a modification is required.
Someone else mentioned using the lower tree. How do you route it.....how do you find it effects the steering compared to the conventional routing?
