Stratosphere

As much of a hard time as I had coming to grips with the styling of the Suzuki Stratosphere show bike, I have to wonder if They are showing us a gimpse into the future? Could this bike (or parts of it) be a precursor to the new Hayabusa? I read rumors of 180hp from 1100cc, punch it out to the current busa displacement and your looking at an easy 210hp. Radial brakes, decent suspension etc. etc. A big old case of what if!

What can I say it's December and I need to think there is something more entertaining going on in the world than 900LB cruisers and Bikes with airbags (you know who you are) to keep me going through the winter.

I always kinda liked it it had its place if it was ever produced

I feel ya ... this is the time of the year to battle PMS and dream about next year and on. I'm dreaming of that 1500cc B-King:)

OK so I was reading my new Cycle World last night and they had an article about the Stratosphere in there that further supports my theory. Bodywork aside we may very well be looking at the next generation Hayabusa underpinnings. It looks like the six cylinder is pretty far along development-wise. I was shocked at how narrow it was! They claim between 180 and 200hp from 1100cc and the skies the limit from there. Maybe thats where they got the name?

I will say this though. I rode a CBX one time and it was the most Soul-less motorcycle I ever swung a leg over. like riding a sewing machine; no vibes, no sounds, no sensation of mechanical goodness, no nothing. Of course this was in comparison to my GS1150ES which was a veritable paint shaker in comparison. The Hayabusa is a pretty good compromise in this respect.

That would be alot of motor if punched up to Busa Status. Can yo imagine a Busa with a six cylinder engine?

I think it would be cool if Suzuki came out with a sport tourer with the 6 cylinder to compete with the FJR1300. Stock hardbags the works. I think that would be one awesome machine. Speed, Handling, comfortable mile muncher.

its in January's cycle word then saying it could be closer to production than anyone thinks was a pretty good write up 1000cc and some where between 180 and 200 hp

There are a lot of pictures of it circulating the web. Still not digging the styling but it may just be Camo anyway.

the styling isnt for me either, but then again, i hate naked bikes, they just dont apeal to me, its like driving around in my viper with the hood off, whats the point, everyone already knows your packin if its on, and you have aero advantages too....

I would totally buy it.

Styled after the old Katana...the engine displacement is the same too.

My only beef is with the seat. Heavy braking could be a tad painful for men...
