Harley's here, Victory's there....V Twins everywhere around Reno this week (hopefully there won't be a shooting between visiting gangs this year). A temporary Ordinance prohibits flying ANY colors on a motorcycle in the county during this event. I think I'll ride the Busa over to downtown and tour the booths( I love to ride the black one around Harley folks, truth is, they are usually quite respectful of the mighty Busa compared to other non Harleys/you guys know what I mean). No offense to anyone but, for me, I'll skip the on site tat parlors, chopper-type leather vendors and look for some performance products folks and kettlekorn.

Note to Busa rider I waved to today.....Hey buddy, I know you don't wave back to other non bad a$$ bikes like my skinny little KLR650, but you didn't have to snear at me from under your tiny little cap helmet. Your blue Busa was lowered, lengthened, loud and very chromed and you fit right in with the Harley's with high handlebars you were riding with but come on, be friendly, maybe that old crotchety dude on that KLR might buy a Hayabusa someday.

I don't usually hold it against someone if they don't wave back, since I know I've been otherwise occupied numerous times and haven't been able to, but when someone is openly contemptuous of what you're riding, I think they've missed the point of riding entirely. Some good-natured ribbing amongst fellow riders is to be expected, and for me is quite enjoyable, but there's some guys that take brand loyalty to an insane level. In any case, there's no excuse for rudeness.

I'm not far from vegas/laughlin and Ive seen a ton of cruisers here recently, was wondering if something was going on, bet some were headed that way.

I took a liitle putt up to VC and watched as hundreds of those hogs passed through on their way to CC on a poker run. The FOGs are taking a ride Saturday, but it won't be anywhere near the Harley events, it can really get congested.

Yep the city is filled with HD's right now.............I called my father-in-law today and asked him what the hell was going on as the town was filled with Harley trash everywhere. He laughed because he knows I love building HD engines. I jab him every chance I get......

Last year during this event I was riding my bicycle up the steeps to Virginia City with a lady racer friend and 10 Harleys came up beside us and slowed down. One of the middle low lifes swerved in front of us, stopped, then did a pathetic burnout to assert his dominance over us. And I'm just supposed to be OK with em all? I don't believe in stereotyping ANY group of people but I must say, they're makin it hard on my openmindedness!

Funny to hear you say that Raydog as I am sure they feel the same way about you or I when they are in their cars with their families and we pass them on a double yellow or we do a wheelie or we are going double the speed limit in the Sierras and putting a knee down in every corner we can.......no one is immune all bikers can be *******s, it's all up to eye of the beholder.

Not waving at special motorcycle events or meets is allowed and encouraged since it's wall to wall motorcycles we would have to tape our hands in the wave position :poke: :rulez:

The larger the group the more morons, just numbers of any group.

I would agree with that generally Scott but there is quite a difference between me passing on a double line when no one is around in the Sierra's versus a guy breaking ranks, pulling into the bike lane and purposely F****** with me. I hope you see the difference. BTW, I seldom put a knee down when people are around.

You are right, I understand that, it was 2 days prior to the event start and no one else was around, no big deal, just ironic that I have 2 Busas at home!

Boy, ain't that the truth. I find that those who make sweeping generalizations don't really know what they are talking about. Having said that, I ride alone on either the Fat Boy or Big Red. These big shindigs -- whether in Reno or at Sears Point -- just aren't much fun compared to breakfast in Plymouth and a putt up to Quincy for the night via a half dozen nowhere burgs and then home the following day. Alone...

Agreed!

Wow, good job in describing the "under the radar Sierras"....great roads, beautiful mountains, good people in those "burgs" too. The Busa is so at home in that environment as well. The one pic below is "other Tim" of Pashnit fame, deep in the Sierras, nobody was around for miles and we were laughing at the roadsigns. It doesn't get better on a motorcycle!
