You use your stock rods, and piston, the only 08 parts you need is the crank and bearings!
From what im told the crank is about $900!
yeah but... 900.00 for a 2mm stroker and then keep the rest stock?
must be some good head work or forced intake to make use of the extra volume.
I say that because the 08 went to 12.5:1 comp over our 11.0:1. So they likely went to a different piston design.
keep an eye on the sleeve length too..
Yes the 08 does have a new piston, and wrist pin. Im tring for a relible Bigbore stroker! Yeh its only really going to gain me about 10 hp at the most, but what else do you think you can do for a $1000 bucks! HORSEPOWER=$$$$$$$
Compression is going to go up slightly with the crankshaft change. You are looking at about 7-8 hp from the swap. 900 for a new crank and you sell you old one to get back about 1/2 that.
You'll need a spacer to raise the deck height 1mm to make it work with the early rods and pistons.

Go ahead and punch it out to 1700 and something, that's stroking baby
could just deck the head and get the same effect....
but there's no "undoing" that mod...lol
but it seems easier than splitting the cases and swapping crank bearings and rod bearings too...
perhaps a mod I would save for when the tranny had to come out.
If you get one...take the time to get it balanced...with the rods and slugs....it amazing how great a good motor can sound....with that quick revving up and down Indy car sound....
did they lower the RPM redline on the new Busa?

Umm decking the head will not change the displacement, only the compression. Decking the head on a Hayabusa could cause more problems than it gains.
sorry prof... meant decking as opposed to the stroker in affecting compression and chamber volume.

i thought decking the head was a bad idea?
it bumps the comp. but it puts the piston real close to the valves(too close for comfort and even worse if your on spray)
if you stroke it you gain volume from the longer stroke and in doing so it also bumps the comp. ratio.which would be a 2 sided benifit(to a point)

Gixer, I have a friend who has a brand new +5mm stroker APE crankshaft race balanced, but not lightened and still has the balancer gear.. he's looking to get $1100 but may negotiate. Has $1600 into it. Currently up on Ebay, but will sell outright. Only selling due to financial difficulty. PM for more details if anyone is interested.
