Stuff in coolant?

I rode around for a little while earlier today. I just walked by my bike and looked at the coolant reservoir and there is stuff settled at the bottom. I attached a picture of it. Whats going on?

I would suspect mineral deposits and sediment from using tap water and not distilled water.
Just a guess as I do not know how your system has been flushed if it has been at all.
I would completely and throughly flush the system and replace it with new coolant from a sealed container.

I have that too. I never really thought about it. Guess I'll flush er out this summer

It is common. Just clean it out.

I only have 2700 miles on it, so unless the factory put different water in it. I just ordered new coolant from Brocks so I will get it all taken care of when it gets in.

How easy is it to take overflow res off to clean it out?

What year bike are we talking about ?
Not sure about normal but def flush that thing clean.
On a GenII it's fairly easy to remove the res bottle.
Hard part is getting the fairing off

It's normal...after a while, crap in the system settles in the bottom of the bottle. You will see this every few years...just flush out the system and replace the coolant...mix with distilled water, 50/50 mix.
