Oh those....you put them high up on the tank...above the gas cap.

So when you are doing 180 and your in a full tuck...you can rest your chin on the tank without your whiskers scratchin the tank.

hehe...I seriously have no idea because I never bought a tank pad....yet.

Never bought a tank pad for the Busa. I had one on my Gixxer and it started to come off and just looked like shid. I am just extra careful when I'm leaning in on the bike. Plus, I like the looks better without a pad.

screethoprez,

The small circular pads that are supplied with your tank pad are to protect the part of your tank where the inside of your knees rest. I can't say I like the look of them myself, but you will get wear marks eventually without them!

I was trying to decide which one is best....A tank pad or a tank bra.....What's your opinion?

Pick your taste.

If you want to cover up the gas tank (looks good on some bikes) go with a bra.

If you don't want to cover up the gas tank, but want to make it a little "flavorful" go with a tank pad.

If you just want to protect the gas tank and like the way it looks as is get a clear 3M bra.

I have a second skin tank bra and it looks okay, but I have been hearing a lot about tank slapper. No adheasive, so easilly goes on and off, and no looseness (a couple of pics look like there are scratches on the sides of my tank.)

Thanks, I had a feeling they were for something like that. Does anybody have any pics of those installed? Any ideas on whereabouts to put them on the sides, or should I just gauge it by where my knees hit?

Thanks,

Rich

I like that tank protector from Magknight. I will look into that! My worry about the bra is that is may eventually scratch the paint. I was never really interested in the tank pad.

I bought the Suzuki-made tank bra and it sucked. Never fit flush with the tank and had these god awful metal plates that had to be bent around the bottom of the fuel tank. Worse, there was this stupid elastic band that went around the top of the fuel tank to secure the front of the bra. Afte bending the metal plates around my tank I noticed that they metal poked through the cloth covering and scratched my paint.

I may get the carbon fiber look protector from MagKnight because I like to hang from the bike and the rough surface may require less effort from my outside leg to keep from slipping.

I've got a tank slapper 3-piece on my tank and I absolutely love it. Shoot, for 15 clams how can you go wrong?
